Description

Bond-It Floorbond CTT is a solvent-free acrylic emulsion carpet tile tackifier, providing a tacky film for fixing loose-lay carpet tiles. It allows tiles to be lifted and replaced easily when required, making it ideal for commercial spaces where tiles need periodic access or replacement.

Recommended for carpet tiles with PVC, PVC/glass fibre, bitumen/felt, non-woven fabric, APP or other polymer backings such as polyurethane and hessian.

Usage / Application

First, make sure the subfloor is clean, dry and sound. Over existing resilient coverings, clean off all wax, polish and contaminants first.

Next, apply an even coat of the tackifier by brush, roller or spreader across the area.

Then leave it to dry to a clear, tacky film before laying the tiles. This tack is what grips the tiles without permanently gluing them.

Finally, lay the carpet tiles into the film. They stay put under foot traffic but lift cleanly for access or replacement, which is why it suits offices and let spaces.

FAQs

What is a tackifier, and why not a normal adhesive?

A tackifier dries to a permanently tacky film that grips carpet tiles in place but lets you lift and replace them. A normal adhesive bonds them down permanently. For loose-lay tiles you want the tackifier.

Can I lift and replace tiles later?

Yes, that is the point. Tiles lift cleanly for access to the floor or to swap a worn tile, then press back down.

Will it stain the tiles?

No, it is non-staining, which is important for commercial carpet tiles.

Which floors can I use it on?

Concrete, chipboard, hardwood, plywood, cementitious screeds, smoothing compound and metal access panels, and over sound, cleaned existing resilient coverings.

Do I lay tiles straight away?

No. Let the film dry to a clear tack first, then lay the tiles into it.
